A FRIENDLY HOUSE TO CALM DOWN
A few steps away from Place Blyckaert, at 105 avenue Goffart in Ixelles, ABAKA asbl has taken up residence in a beautiful single-family house. Between the common living rooms, the young people’s rooms and the spaces dedicated to listening and talking, the common factor remains conviviality. Guided tour of the premises in pictures …
During the first meeting or accompaniment, we invite the teenager and/or his family to settle down in our foyer. A warm room, ideal for listening and exchanging. Located at the entrance of the house, it’s separated from the bustle of the house in order to preserve the intimacy of the young people in residence.
LIVING IN COMMUNITY
ABAKA is also a big house with a kitchen where meals are prepared all together, a dining room where we can enjoy them (and play ping pong !) and a living room for relaxing, playing, talking and watching movies on the sofa.
A PERSONAL SPACE FOR RELAXING
ABAKA offers the possibility of accommodation. The rooms, single or double depending on availability, are spread over two floors (one for girls and one for boys), each with its own bathroom. They are all very pleasant !
We are lucky to have a garden in the city! From the first ray of sunshine, we eat outside. In the back, we set up a basketball court and a shed that houses our bicylcles. Teens with a green thumb can contribute to the vegetable garden and harvest fresh vegetables.
On the top floor of the house is studio 105! ABAKA’s radio studio, convertible into a projection room for movie nights. A real space for expression, it allows young people to talk, sing and share their story through the microphone.
